Lightweight Cosplay Wings
Building wings can be one of the hardest things about building a cosplay. The weight, how to attach, what materials etc etc. When I saw this tutorial, I had to share. Both lightweight and elegant looking.
It has come to my attention that recently there has been a scam going around, targeting female cosplayers who tend to wear sexier costumes. The user has been contacting cosplayers on different social media websites, tumblr, facebook, and deviantart included, stating they were from Cosplay.com and went as far as to use the site logo. They requested video interviews via skype, and according to people who were targeted, the user that was interviewing these cosplayers didn’t use sound or video during said interview. Now, here’s where it becomes insulting to every single female cosplayer in the community. At the end of the interview, the cosplayers were given a quiz on their character. If you got a question wrong, you had to take off an article of clothing.
Super gross.
Characters: Yoshi, Sailor Moon, Bowser
Series: Super Mario Bros & Sailor Moon
I’d play that videro game.
Wow, I’m never buying anything Tony Harris does again. Disgusting.

Is this a thing now? I keep seeing people saying really stupid, horrible things about cosplayers and challenging their status as geeks or nerds.
For the record, I don’t give a rat’s ass if you don’t read comics but still dress up like Deadpool or Catwoman. The fact that you’re deciding to dress up in a costume and hang out at a convention is proof enough of geek cred… but then again, there is no litmus test for geekdom, nor should there be, and it’s no one else’s job to authenticate one’s status as a geek or nerd.
Tony Harris, your remarks are nothing less than disgusting and you ought to be ashamed of yourself. I expect better not just from a professional artist, but for someone who has worked on so many great project before. Simply despicable.
[Emphasis mine]
Linkara, how do you be so cool?
(I am stuck wondering why, if these hypothetical sexy costume ladies hate the geeks so much, they dress up as geek bait and go to geek cons, spending money and time to go “hang on” people they hate. Surely there is a much less expensive and more fulfilling hobby involving being sexy in crowded areas? Say, going to a local nightclub or something? I do not understand their hypothetical motivations.)
Finished up my Legend of Korra cosplay recently and got some amazing photos taken by Mike Boike ( http://www.facebook.com/CosPog)
There are some small details I am going to go back and fix. And I’m trying to find the funds for blue contacts. But yeah… XD Hope you enjoy!
